Day 1 - Ottawa
Day 1 - Ottawa

Ottawa - Canada’s capital, in the east of southern Ontario, near the city of Montréal and the U.S. border. Upon arrival you will be transferred to our hotel for a welcome drink at the bar with your travelling companions.

Day 2 - Ottawa to Montreal
Day 2 - Ottawa to Montreal

Today we will spend a few hours enjoying scenic Ottawa with it's grand Victorian Architecture, Parliament Hill and the Rideau Canal. We will then travel the short distance to Montréal, the largest city in Canada's Québec province. Montréal is set on an island in the Saint Lawrence River and named after Mt. Royal, the triple-peaked hill at its heart. Its boroughs, many of which were once independent cities, include neighbourhoods ranging from cobblestoned, French colonial Vieux-Montréal – with the Gothic Revival Notre-Dame Basilica at its centre – to bohemian Plateau.

Day 3 - Montreal
Day 3 - Montreal

Today you will have more time to explore the city of Montréal at your own pace, and in the evening we will spend an evening enjoying the ambience of downtown.

Day 4 - Montreal to Vermont & Maine New England
Day 4 - Montreal to Vermont & Maine New England

Today, we will say goodbye to Canada and cross the border at the Stanstead Border/Derby Line Vermont crossing - Welcome to the USA! After a short visit and comfort break, we will make our way to Portland Maine, set on a peninsula extending into Casco Bay. We will explore the Old Port waterfront with it's fishing wharves and converted warehouses, restaurants and shops. Then we will visit the nearby Western Promenade park sitting on top of a bluff, offering river and mountain views.

Day 5 Portland Maine, Salem & Boston Massachusetts
Day 5 Portland Maine, Salem & Boston Massachusetts

This morning we will continue our journey down the picturesque Maine Coastline and make a stop in Salem Massachusetts - home of the famous 1692 witch trials, during which several locals were executed for allegedly practicing witchcraft. We will visit landmarks from this period including the Witch House and the former home of a trial judge.
After lunch - we will continue our short journey down the coast to Boston, Massachusetts’ capital and largest city. Founded in 1630, it’s one of the oldest cities in the U.S. The key role it played in the American Revolution is highlighted on the Freedom Trail, a 2.5-mile walking route of historic sites that tells the story of the nation’s founding.
After checking into our hotel - it will be time to relax and enjoy evening entertainment in downtown Boston.

Day 6 Boston, Plymouth & Providence Rhode Island
Day 6 Boston, Plymouth & Providence Rhode Island

After breakfast we will leave our hotel for the day to visit Plymouth and Providence Rhode Island. First we will make the short journey to Plymouth - a coastal town in Massachusetts, just south of Boston. It is the site of the first Pilgrim settlement, founded in 1620. We will visit Plymouth Rock, a boulder in Pilgrim Memorial State Park, which marks the place where settlers are thought to have landed on shore. The Mayflower II, a full-scale replica of the ship that carried the Pilgrims across the Atlantic, is usually anchored at the park and of course we will have a look at the ship! After lunch we will hop aboard and make another short journey to Providence which is the capital city of the U.S. state of Rhode Island (State #4 since arriving in New England) Providence is home to Brown University and the Rhode Island School of Design, and a collection of 18th and 19th century homes which line the streets of College Hill. We will spend a few hours in Providence before returning for another evening in Boston.

Day 7 - Boston & Cape Cod
Day 7 - Boston & Cape Cod

This morning we will leave the hotel for a day on Cape Cod! This hook-shaped peninsula of the U.S. state of Massachusetts, is a popular summertime destination. It's the site of quaint villages, seafood shacks, lighthouses, ponds and bay and ocean beaches. In the large town of Hyannis, the John F. Kennedy Museum is the first stop on the Kennedy Legacy Trail through downtown, where ferries depart to the resort islands of Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. There will be plenty of time for travelling on the local ferries and to enjoy all that "The Cape" has to offer before making our way back to Boston this evening.

Day 8 - Boston
Day 8 - Boston

This morning we will travel a short distance into Concord - the capital city of New Hampshire (State #5). Concord is home to the State House, a gold-domed building dating from 1819, with a visitor center and the Hall of Flags. On our return you will be free to enjoy Boston at your own pace. Among the most famous attractions are of course The Freedom Trail, Faneuil Hall, Fenway Park - home of The Red Socks and of course Beacon Hill - One of Boston's most beautiful neighborhoods and right in the center of the city. The south side of Beacon Hill has traditionally been the home of Boston's "old money" where well-kept brick homes line its tree-shaded streets. At the western foot of Beacon Hill, Charles Street is lined with boutiques and shops that are popular with visitors. Beyond Charles Street, facing the Public Garden, The Bull and Finch, established in 1969, inspired the popular television program, Cheers. Across the Charles River, you'll find Esplanade Park, Cambridge. Although a separate and independent city, for tourist purposes, Cambridge is part of Boston and connected by the same transit system. Here, you'll find two of America's most prestigious and important universities, Harvard and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). These and the many other universities and colleges in the area help keep Boston a youthful and vibrant place to be, with all the music, theater, and entertainment options, plus an abundance of restaurants, you'll never be at a loss for things to do in Boston at night.

Day 9 - Boston, Hartford Connecticut and Philadelphia
Day 9 - Boston, Hartford Connecticut and Philadelphia
