DAY BY DAY TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1

Welcome to New Orleans, Louisiana’s most important port city. People from all over the world have been arriving in New Orleans since the Sieur de Bienville laid out the city’s streets in 1718. The city today is a unique blend of Spanish, French, Caribbean, African and Anglo- Saxon influences. This is obvious in the food, architecture and, of course, the music. Your tour guide will be at the hotel to welcome you to New Orleans and, after check in, will be available to help you plan your stay in this charming and bustling city.

The day is yours to immerse yourself in the charm and excitement of one of America’s most unique cities. Your tour guide will assist you with planning the day’s activities. Perhaps start the day with an early morning optional tour taking you to a famous Louisiana Plantation followed by a jazz brunch in the Quarter. Enjoy window shopping along Royal Street’s art galleries, or while away the day lazily sipping coffee in the cafe Du Monde. Take a stroll along the Mississippi River or ride the St. Charles streetcar through the Garden District, an area known for its magnificent architecture.

Spend another day enjoying the sights and sounds of New Orleans. Perhaps you would like to do a Graveyard Tour, a “Haunted” bus trip or even spend time at the Casino before the evening entertainment on Bourbon Street begins.

Today we say goodbye to the "Big Easy" and Louisiana. As we take a leisurely drive through Mississippi we will stop in Tupelo - home town of the "King" Elvis Presley! We will visit The Birthplace and Tupelo Hardware before setting off for Memphis, Tennessee - the city Elvis would call home and where Blues & Rock ‘n’ Roll are found in abundance! This evening you will have free time to enjoy the sights and the sounds of Beale Street.

This morning we will take you on a visit to Sun Studio where the “Million Dollar Quartet” made some of their first recordings. Then we will head out to the Graceland Mansion and tour the Memphis home of Elvis Presley. After spending a few hours Enjoying the exhibits and Elvis’ planes we will return to Memphis for more live music on Beale!

It’s time to wave goodbye to Memphis and head to Nashville, known as the capital of country music. The city earned its title with the first airing of the WSM Barn Dance radio program, the forerunner of the Grand Ole Opry. We will be stopping on the way to Nashville in Jackson, Tennessee for a spot of lunch and you will have time to visit The Casey Jones Museum if you wish. After checking in to our Nashville hotel, take your time, relax and get ready to enjoy music in the Honky tonks on Broadway!

Today - It is Travelling Time's (Optional) Johnny Cash Tour. We will visit the Nashville Cowboy Church and meet Johnny's sister Joanne, travel to Franklin, Kentucky and see Johnny & June's Wedding Venue before visiting their final resting place in Hendersonville, Tennessee.
