It’s Cal-Neva Calling! – See the best of California and Nevada with Travelling Time!
Although best known for its film studios and Hollywood glitz, Los Angeles has long been one of the best places to see live performances. During Travelling Time’s It’s Cal-Neva Calling Tour, you’ll also delve into its musical past. With the Legendary Capitol Records, the colourful rock ‘n’ roll history of Sunset Strip and the Rock Walk on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame – music history can be found in abundance.
We will continue the Californian music trail up the Pacific Coast Highway to San Francisco before we cross the state line into Nevada, where Frank Sinatra once owned the Cal-Neva Lodge. The musical theme weaves its way throughout It’s Cal-Neva Calling – a fantastic West Coast Music Tour!

It's Cal-Neva Calling - and welcome to Los Angeles, your guide and driver will meet you at the hotel. Once you have checked in feel free to join us in the hotel bar for a welcome drink and to meet your fellow travellers.
On our first full day on the It's Cal-Neva Tour, we will visit some of the famous music spots in Hollywood and Sunset Strip. We’ll stop in Beverly Hills and spend some time window shopping on Rodeo Drive before we go out as a group this evening to enjoy a meal and local entertainment.
After breakfast it’s time to head north to the Monterey Peninsula and Carmel, California (where Clint Eastwood was famously the local Mayor) We will enjoy a tour around this lovely town and spend the evening enjoying drinks and live music.
When we arrive in San Francisco be sure to “wear some flowers in your hair” as we tour around some of the most well known and iconic music attractions in the city. We’ll visit the one time homes of Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jefferson Airplane and The Grateful Dead. Following a stop at the Amoeba Record Store we’ll take tour around the famous Haight-Ashbury District.
Today is yours to spend exploring at your own pace, perhaps take a San Francisco trolley ride or visit Pier 39 and Fisherman’s Wharf - where you can taste a “unique brew” on a tour of the Anchor Steam Brewery, which dates back to 1896. Maybe a shopping trip to Union Square is more your thing, be sure to take a tour of the nearby lane with the “shady” reputation. You’ll be spoilt for choice as there is so much to see and do in the City by the Bay.
Time to bid farewell to San Francisco and California as we travel to beautiful Lake Tahoe, Nevada. We will take a look round the Cal-Neva Lodge which straddles the California/Nevada state line. The Lodge, once owned by Frank Sinatra, is said to be haunted by the ghosts of Marilyn Monroe and Sammy Davis Jnr. There is no shortage of things to do in Lake Tahoe, and the local entertainment is first class.
After a leisurely breakfast, we will make the short journey to Reno, Nevada. A visit to the National Automobile Museum will be followed by a tour of the Animal Ark. Then it is back to Lake Tahoe where you will be free to enjoy local entertainment or perhaps a headline show at one of the area’s casinos.
It doesn’t matter when you go to Las Vegas, there is always something extraordinary to do. Once we get you checked in to our Las Vegas Strip hotel you will have free time to enjoy this city which is unlike any other! With headline shows, wonderful restaurants and eccentric people Las Vegas is a world of fun.
Enjoy today at leisure in Las Vegas. Why not explore the “Strip” where you can see the Eiffel Tower, the Statue of Liberty and the Luxor Pyramid. Take a stroll through the larger-than-life hotels, take a walk through the Miracle Mile Shops inside Planet Hollywood and The Forum in Caesars Palace or even enjoy the “Fremont Street Experience” You’re truly spoilt for choice in Sin City!
Today we’ll take a day trip over the Hoover Dam to the Grand Canyon and its stunning glass Skywalk. Later, why not take in a headline show or listen to live music in one of the many hotel bars or local music venues. Maybe it’s time to try your luck at the casino tables.
Today we’re heading for Palm Springs, a beautiful city in the desert you just have to experience. It has been home to Dean Martin, Elizabeth Taylor, Nat King Cole and many other celebrities over the years - and is currently home to Forever Marilyn, an amazing 26-foot tall statue of Marilyn Monroe. Tonight we will enjoy live music at a local honky tonk!
On our second day here you’ll be free to soak in all that this Desert city has to offer. Why not take a stroll through the historical heart of Palm Springs? On Palm Canyon Drive and Indian Canyon Drive you’ll find the Palm Springs Walk of Stars, numerous restaurants, pubs, art galleries, historical buildings and all kinds of shops on streets lined with brightly lit palm trees
Today we make the short journey to Anaheim - home of the original Disneyland and Knotts Berry Farm. En-route we will travel on part of the Pacific Coast Highway past the beautiful Huntington & Laguna Beaches.
Anaheim - the day is yours to enjoy at leisure. This evening the group will enjoy a farewell dinner together.
As the It's Cal-Neva Tour comes to an end - we will take you to LAX Airport for your onward journey.
