Nashville calling…Downtown, The Gulch, Bi-Centennial Park or Music Row…you’re spoilt for choice but the choice is your!
Have an easy Sunday morning in Music City or join us on an optional visit to Nashville's Cowboy Church followed by a shopping trip to Hendersonville Tennessee and a chance to pay your respects to Johnny Cash and June Carter at their final resting place.
The Bluebird Cafe, Patsy Cline or Johnny Cash Museums, General Jackson, Margaritaville, Musicians Hall of Fame, Printers Alley…?
It’s your last day in Nashville. Time to complete your “must see” list or maybe re-visit some of your favourite attractions, people and places.
Today we say goodbye to Music City and travel south to Alabama and "The Shoals". On the way we will stop by the world famous Jack Daniel’s Distillery for a tour and to spend a little while in the picturesque town of Lynchburg, Tennessee before continuing our journey to our hotel in Tuscumbia, Alabama. Tuscumbia is one of the four cities that make up the area known as “The Shoals”, the others are Sheffield, Florence and of course the City of Muscle Shoals! This evening we will enjoy dinner and live music in one of the many fantastic local venues.
It’s time to explore the rich musical history of Muscle Shoals. We will visit FAME, Muscle Shoals Sound and Cypress Moon recording studios before having lunch at Claunch Cafe in Spring Park. After lunch, we will visit Ivy Green - the childhood home of Helen Keller. This evening we will enjoy live music performed by the best local musicians (some of whom you may have met during the day)
Enjoy a day trip with a difference. We will leave the hotel this morning and travel to Tupelo, Mississippi - the birthplace of Elvis Presley. Enjoy seeing the Birthplace Park and Tupelo Hardware, where Elvis bought his first guitar. After lunch we will head back to "The Shoals", stopping on our way in Red Bay Alabama - home to the one and only Tammy Wynette. Learn all about Tammy at the Red Bay Museum. We will enjoy dinner and live music at the unique Rattlesnake Saloon!
It's your final day and we will take you to visit a very special place - Tom's Wall. Before we return to town for some free time we will stop for a short tour of KIX 96 - the radio station owned and operated by the Phillips family (Sam Phillips of Sun Studio and Million Dollar Quartet Fame was a native of Florence Alabama) where his son Jerry and grand-daughter Halley will often come and chat to the group. Back at the hotel, it is time to get ready for our last night in “The Shoals”. Enjoy dinner and live music in the company of friends old and new. Memories are made of this…
