Travelling Time’s “66 & Buddy” – Another fantastic escorted music tour!
On our incredible 13 day “66 & Buddy” music themed holiday, we combine the history of Route 66 with a celebration of the life and career of the Legend that is Buddy Holly! During this fantastic music tour, we’ll enjoy the sights and sounds of wonderful cities and towns as we travel along America’s Mother Road – Route 66! We’ll travel through West Texas, to Lubbock, the home of mega-star Buddy Holly. Then, on our way to Clovis, New Mexico, we’ll be listening to his music and singing along to many of the hits he recorded in Norman Petty’s Music Studio!

Day 13
Welcome to Dallas Texas...The Big D! After check in it’s time to meet your fellow travellers, guide & driver in the hotel bar for welcome drinks.
Today we will visit downtown Dallas and explore this wonderful city before taking a self-guided tour of Dealey Plaza and the 6th Floor Museum. Then you can spend some leisure time in downtown Dallas. Tonght we will visit historic Grapevine.
This morning we will leave Dallas for Lubbock Texas - the home of Buddy Holly! On the way, we will stop for lunch in the wonderful city of Abilene, perhaps a photo opportunity or two awaits? Then we'll check into our hotel before enjoying evening entertainment in Downtown Lubbock Texas.
Today will be dedicated to the life and music of one of the world’s rock’n’roll legends. We will visit The Buddy Holly Center, which is dedicated to him as well as the music of Lubbock and West Texas. We will also visit the West Texas Wall of Fame and other Buddy Holly sites before enjoying an evening meal and local entertainment!
After breakfast we travel the short distance to Clovis New Mexico, making a short pitstop at Waymore's in Littlefield (Home of Waylon Jennings). Then one of the many tour highlights is a private visit to the Norman Petty Recording Studio. This is where Buddy Holly recorded some of his biggest hits. From Clovis we will make our way onto Route 66 and Amarillo where we will enjoy dinner and explore the Amarillo nightlife!
It’s time to bring out your inner Banksy on a visit to the Cadillac Ranch this morning, before heading to the scenic Palo Duro Canyon just outside of town. Then it is time to make our way along historic Route 66 to Oklahoma City making a few stops along the way. We'll take a leisurely driving tour of OKC before enjoying the nightlife in the entertainment area known as Bricktown!
After breakfast we will visit the National Monument, The Cowboy Museum and OKC's Riverwalk before getting ready for our evening entertainment at the Oklahoma Stockyard's Rodeo Opry, followed by a group dinner in Cowtown!
Today we will make our way to Tulsa Oklahoma further up America’s Mother Road - Route 66! We will take tours of the downtown Art Deco District, the fabulous Woody Guthrie Center and the refurbished Church Studio (Made famous by Leon Russell) before enjoying a night on the town!
We will set out on a day trip through Osage Country to Pawhuska today - home of Ree Drummond the "Pioneer Woman". We will visit the Mercantile, look for some buffalo and explore this quaint little town. Then we'll make the short drive back to Tulsa, to enjoy a bit of Tulsan Nightlife!
After breakfast we will say goodbye to Tulsa and travel to Fort Worth Texas. On the way we will stop at the Chickasaw Cultural Center for an insight into Native American Life and then have lunch at Blake Shelton's Ole Red in Tishomingo. We'll pay a visit to Blake's Mum's gift shop and the Dawg Pound before making our way to Fort Worth.
Today we will visit the one and only "Southfork Ranch" home of the Ewing Family from TV’s long running show “Dallas” Then it’s free time in Fort Worth before heading over to Billy Bob’s for some entertainment at the worlds largest honky tonk!
A highlight of any trip to Texas has to be a visit to Fort Worth's Stockyards - you'll see a cattle drive, visit the western wear shops and so much more! Then this evening we will visit The fabulous Sundance Square, and have a final dinner as a group.
